Idea

We have an elevator pitch.
Sustaintech creates a distribution mechanism for supply of a range of fuel efficient wood burning stoves for small scale commercial cooking operations. The idea is to introduce cooking need specific stoves and cook / owner specific financing and collection mechanisms to improve incomes, improve indoor air quality by removing several pain points.
Team

We can build the product - our team has what it takes. Given the time and money, we can deliver on our promises.
The team has 3 promoters, a head office team with CEO, head of partnerships, data manager, consumer finance lead and servicing lead. At the regional level there are 6 area sales managers, 22 sales officers and 5 technicians. The company has stable partnerships for manufacturing.
Product

We have a working product and you can request a demonstration.
We have 3 main categories of cookstoves for cooking on a flat plate (in 4 sizes), with a frypan or a saucepan (in 5 sizes) and a tea stove. We also have stoves that can use loose fuel like agro residues, husks etc. All these stoves are in commercial operation and we have sold about 3000 stoves to date.
Revenue

We already have revenue from paying customers.
The revenue inflows for Sustaintech are revenue from sales and post warranty inflows from repair and maintenance. The revenue outflows are cost of fabrication, installation, transportation and warranty support costs. We operate at a gross margin of 33-35%. This supports salaries, induction/ training of employees, travel, stove installation, new partnerships, data management, expenses towards ITES services etc. ROI to investors would be possible with higher sales and product diversification.
Inclusiveness

We involve low-income groups as consumers and employees.
Our business idea is inclusive because we are address the cooking energy needs of street food vendors. In trying to reach the under-served, we have initiated measures like consumer awareness, linkage with banks, MFIs and govt. schemes etc. This segment is not the focus of development initiatives but our intervention can bring people out of poverty.
Quantified impact
We would like to sell 18000 stoves in 5 years. These would offer better respiratory health to 40,000 users. Use of stoves for 5 years can save USD 10 million in fuel costs, 0.9 million tons of biomass, 1.35 m tons of CO2 and has potential to save 15,000 hectares of scrub forests.Fundraising
