Sustainable Livelihood Creating Opportunities, Upgrading Livelihoods

Socio Economic Resource Group (SEREG) a nonprofit based in Cameroon is active in promoting the interest of disadvantaged persons living within rural communities. Our passion is to secure the rights and entitlements of the vulnerable rural inhabitants we work with and for.

SEREG-Cameroon seeks to provide interest free credits for startups and produce successful marketing links/networks. Our focus is to bring about mutually reinforcing impacts by not only providing access to agribusiness training but encouraging the unemployed youths through out the process up to the point where they shall be provided with  in-kind input loans qualitatively guaranteed by the community and the beneficiaries harvest and pay for their loans over the 12months season. Repaid loans are re-issued to empower the next trainees in need.

The idea is, 80% of the output sold will be re-invested on the youths 60% females as a seed loan and 20% will be used for outreach programs to other rural communities. At scale, the previous beneficiaries will payback the investment from their profits and the funds shall be re-invested on newly trained youths from other rural communities, hence, sustaining rural livelihoods.

Inclusiveness

We involve low-income groups as producers.

Sereg-Cameroon envisions a society's development at which not only were basic social progress guaranteed but the great majority of the undeserved rural youths and other community members would have the employment by which to meet their own needs by their own efforts.

We involve low-income groups as producers.

This will create viable vocational skills training and employment opportunities to 420 youths including small holder farmers. At scale, 34 traders dealing with agricultural products will gain income from commission of sales and more than 2000 families shall be guaranteed with food security.
