pool.farm we reduce the cost of transport by helping customers group orders

Transport of small quantities is often complex and expensive.

What if customers could consolidate the order intentions, locally, before they place an order? This would result in the same amount of orders transported in fewer shipments.

– If you are a business, you can upload a catalogue on a pool.farm page, which makes it “pool-friendly”, and your customers can start connecting with other customers locally. It’s very easy to set up. We take a small fee, no commissions.

– If you are a customer, try pooling with other people in the neighbourhood who buy from the same business! You will use your resources in a more efficient way.

– If you are a transport company, please get in touch : our businesses need your services.

By connecting customers’ shopping lists, or order lists, pool.farm aims to reduce the complexity and cost of the transport networks, at a cost much lower than the benefits.

It also enables new bonds between small businesses and their end customers, independently from large organisations.

We enable businesses to reduce the cost of logistics by enabling their customers to "pool" orders. This is done by communicating between customers before the order is finalised. pool.farm is a platform that people can use to pool and find business catalogues they can use to pool orders.

We proved the concept in Q3, 2017. We were able to reduce the delivery costs in an urban are by half, for significant suppliers. This is what we wanted to prove. We sent our first invoice in Q4, 2017. Our next work will be to create great Interaction design.

Revenue

We plan to start by building a community of passionate customers. We have identified one or more revenue streams. We already have revenue from paying customers.

We charge a yearly subscription fee to the companies who upload a catalogue. The starts at 100 EUR for small companies. By uploading a business catalogue on pool.farm, pool.farm makes a business catalogue "pool-friendly". A "pool-friendly" catalogue makes it easy for customers to "pool" orders. Pooled orders can be delivered in one delivery instead of 2, 3 or more deliveries. So a "pool-friendly" catalogue is the first step to "pooled" deliveries, which reduces the cost of deliveries.

Inclusiveness

We involve low-income groups as consumers. We involve low-income groups as producers. We involve low-income groups as distributors. We involve low-income groups as employees.

Small businesses will very often have a disadvantage when it comes to logistics, because volume reduces the cost of logistics. By enabling customers to "pool" orders, customers help small businesses to be more efficient, which means they can be more competitive. pool.farm is also priced extremely cheap in order to attract many customers.

In October, we were able to reduce by 60% the cost of last-mile delivery for a Swedish supplier, known as @ekobonden on social media. By reducing the cost of deliveries, we enable suppliers to either reduce their prices (& become more competitive) &/or be more profitable &/or reinvest the savings in their business. In the short term, we will help small suppliers be less dependent on wholesalers by reducing the cost of selling directly to customers. pool.farm supports business diversity
