Jiro-Ve

As Jiro-Ve we make renewable energy accessible for the people in Madagascar. Through a network of carefully selected an trained franchisers we rent out lights and create jobs. These lights are charged with solar during the day and distributed to our members for usage during the night. Because we rent out our light for less then people currently pay for their candles we help them to reduce their spending on candles and kerosene while allowing them to use a superior form of lighting.

Our members pay 0,05 euro per day for renting our light. We pay a commission to the franchisees that charge the lights for them depending on the number of lights they rent out. The remaining funds we use to cover our overheads and to buy new products.

Inclusiveness

We involve low-income groups as consumers. We involve low-income groups as distributors. We involve low-income groups as employees.

We offer our service through the same shops that used to sell candles. Therefore we disrupt an entire industry without causing the loss of any jobs. Our service is sustainable because our members are paying for the service we provide to them.
