FourReturns was founded by Thekla Teunis, supported by the Commonland Foundation. FourReturns has a diverse team of business developers, ecologists and agronomists, and landscape mobilisers, with one team member in the EU, who focuses on market development (food and cosmetics).

The product of FourReturns is essentially the landscape restoration approach. Every degraded landscape we turn into a healthy ecosystem again, delivers specific products that we market to both local and international buyers. These could be essential or vegetable oils, food powders, spices or even water and energy solutions.

We are selling a portfolio of natural ingredients to both food and cosmetics manufacturers. This product portfolio ranges from essential and vegetable oils, to food powders.

We involve low-income groups as consumers. We involve low-income groups as producers. We involve low-income groups as distributors. We involve low-income groups as employees.

One third of the planet’s land is degraded. Most of the degradation is caused by human activities. Degraded land is less productive than healthy land; water gets lost and it produces less food. If we want to restore the degraded land, we have to understand farmers – and team up with them. This makes our initiative truly inclusive.
