Minigrid will sell power to consumers under a prepayment scheme with the same tarifffs as Zesco, Zambian National Utility. The 100 kW capacity per minigrid allows for an average of 40 commercial and 10 institutional consumers plus 470 households, connected to the low voltage distribution grid. Each consumer is subject to a one off connection fee of 1,500 KN. Metered customers pay a fixed monthly charge plus an energy charge.
